Super Smash Bros. Brawl fight replays can be sent to friends online via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection
Another new feature for Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been revealed! The game will allow you to send three-minute replays that you have recorded from the game to friends on your friend list via the online Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection support built into the game. Although it’s unclear whether you can record at any time, or if the game does it for you at the end of fights. What it will do is record automatically replays of your Time in modes like Target Mode, which makes it’s return in Brawl.
It was revealed last month that Super Smash Bros. Brawl would feature online play and this is a much requested feature that will definitely be welcome (the ability to record fights). I know that I personally recorded hours upon hours of video footage using my web-cam of fights in Super Smash Bros. Melee when we had groups of friends over. That was always super fun. And with Halo 3 featuring this kind of support, it would seem to be a natural direction for Nintendo to go in. The fact that they have gone in and added this support though is quite surprising but definitely great for all of us fans!
Obviously, while having the ability to send replays to friends is great, it does suck to hear that you can only send three minutes of replay footage, which is quite a small amount. And once again this proves why the Wii desperately needs an upgrade to it’s system memory . . . at the very least they could’ve allowed the use of SD cards to hold recordings of as much data has you could fit on the card. Even if that would obviously take much longer to send . . . But either way, it’s great to hear that they are listening to the request of fans and adding very cool features like this.
No doubt that this type of thing is a result of Super Smash Bros. Brawl being delayed till February 10th 2008. Can’t wait to hear what else they have in store for us!
