Beautiful Katamari for Xbox 360Namco-Bandai have released the first in-game content for Beautiful Katamari on Xbox 360 for download via Xbox Live Marketplace in Asia. Just days after the launch of the game last week they’ve released 4 new levels…

Content: Milky Way Constellations
Price: 200 Microsoft Points
Availability: Asia only
Dash Text: Roll up all 88 constellations to make the Milky Way.

Content: The Weaver Girl
Price: 200 Microsoft Points
Availability: Asia only
Dash Text: Collect lots of string and yarn to make the Weaver Girl, Vega.

Content: Shopping Spree
Price: 200 Microsoft Points
Availability: Asia only
Dash Text: Be a thrifty shopper and go on a shopping spree to make a Space Station.

Content: High-calorie Katamari
Price: 200 Microsoft Points
Availability: Japan only
Dash Text: Collect lots of food to make Cetus the Whale.

Hopefully these will shortly come to America, Canada & Mexico in a more reasonably priced single download. What I wonder in these instances is if they couldn’t have included them in the game at launch? I don’t get it, if you have big enough fans who finished the game quickly and want more, then you offer them one download with lots of levels to enjoy, not an annoying way to have to pay 4 times for US$10 of minimal extra content. — Via Majornelson

I’ve read that this is basically a download that unlocks content already on the disc.

So the game is retailing at $40 which is good, but if you want the full game, it’s an extra $10 in downloads….

Wow really? That would be even worse, I guess when it does get released in other countries we’ll find out by looking at the file size, if it’s already on the disc it should be a very small size.
