Okami Wii version confirmed by Capcom for Q2 2008
You might remember a few months back an Okami 2 sequel and Okami Wii port were wanted by its designer. Now at least part of that dream has come true, Capcom has confirmed Okami will be released on Wii! The puzzle action adventure game is expected to be released sometime in the second quarter of 2008.
Okami first appeared on PS2 in 2006. Its remarkably striking watercolour-based visuals were complemented by an engrossing Zelda-like adventure, making for a title that offered gameplay that matched its stunning looks.
The obvious advantage the Wii version will have over its PS2 counterpart is the implementation of Amaterasu’s Celestial Brush via the Wii controller’s motion-sensor controls, it’s a weapon that requires players to perform brushstrokes across certain parts of the screen, reports Mcvuk. Combat will also include various “motion-controlled physical attacks”.
