Super Smash Bros. Brawl DELAYED till February 10th 2008 in the US
It’s official, Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been delayed till February 10th, 2008 in the United States, a Sunday. As it was, the old Super Smash Bros. Brawl release date of December 3rd was a lucky one for US gamers, because it was only the US that was getting the game in 2007, everyone else in the world had to wait. But it wasn’t to be. For the record, Japan will now be getting the game before the US on January 24th, 2008.
So now everyone will have to wait until early 2008 to play the highly anticipated next game in the Super Smash Bros. series. Do you think this is good news or bad news?
Personally, while it always sucks to have to wait even longer, I am glad that they delayed it because hopefully this will give Nintendo more time to make the game AAA to the Nth degree. I am expecting there to be more playable characters than before (let’s hope they snag some really special ones, like Mega Man, Tails & Knuckles, and Pac-Man, in addition to the recently unveiled Sonic in Super Smash Bros. Brawl), a much improved and more robust online play (Super Smash Bros. Brawl has online play as previously confirmed) that will work well from the start (since they are having much longer to iron out all the kinks) and twice the amount of unlockables as we would have had previously. This will also let people focus on Nintendo’s other big release (Super Mario Galaxy) even more.
So this really is a win-win situation for everyone. But what are your thoughts?! Voice them in our comment box below! — via 1-Up
