The Official Princess Bride Game: True Love and High Adventure movie-based download-only fairytale coming in spring 2008
Movie publisher Act III Licensing has recently announced a deal with games developer Worldwide Biggies to release a video game based on the the 1987 film The Princess Bride, which is known as an intelligent fairytale that has stood the test of time.
Worldwide Biggies CEO Albie Hecht was quoted as saying a “fun DVD game” teaser version of the PC game will be on the upcoming “The Princess Bride 20th Anniversary Edition DVD,” that will be released on November 13th, 2007. The full game titled “True Love and High Adventure — The Official Princess Bride Game,” will be released as an online download in spring 2008.
Mr. Hecht added there are no plans for retail distribution, but he said the game has a strong chance to tap into the burgeoning casual gaming audience. And that includes women, many of whom grew up as fans of the Rob Reiner movie that starred Cary Elwes, Robin Wright Penn, Wallace Shawn, Andre the Giant, and Mandy Patinkin.
