An all-new character, along with a new trailer, have surfaced for Super Smash Bros. Brawl! First up, the game has a brand new challenger! A character who is set to battle Ness for the EarthBound throne and a possible new favorite character from the series . . . who is it you ask? Paula? Jeff!? Poo?!?!
WRONG! The new Super Smash Bros. Brawl character is Lucas! The blond-haired, pyscho-powered boy hails from the Japan-only Mother 3 (EarthBound is called Mother in Japan) and he looks similar to Ness (but without the cap). What has a lot of fans worried though is that he is TOO similar to Ness. Is it possible that they could have actually REPLACED Ness with this new kid? Let’s hope not, because so far Ness HAS NOT been confirmed as a playable character.
I for one also hope that they add Paula to the game as a playable character. I mean we could always use another female fighter, and so far there have only been two playable characters (if you count Lucas) from the EarthBound series, so I definitely think Paula would make a worthy addition to the line-up. Also, let’s all hold hands pray that Nintendo will FINALLY release Mother 3, aka EarthBound 2, in the US. Now that EarthBound is once again in the spotlight, and will be when the game releases on December 3rd (US). And heck, that they will go ahead and release Mother, aka EarthBound Zero (in addition to EarthBound of course, but that should be a given), on the Wii Virtual Console while they are at it.
And now check out this all-new trailer for Super Smash Bros. Brawl! It was shown at TGS 2007 in celebration of the Metal Gear 20th Anniversary. The video was only shown once as well, but thankfully someone had the foresight to record it and get it posted up and now here it is for your viewing pleasure. Snake VS Mario!
