Fatal Frame 4 Wii sequel announced by Tecmo

At Tokyo Game Show last week it was revealed by Tecmo that they hired Japanese developer Grasshopper Manufacture to create the horror game Fatal Frame 4 for the Nintendo Wii.

When Grasshopper finishes work on their Wii-exclusive game No More Heroes before December 6th 2007, they will begin making Fatal Frame Wii. Given that No More Heroes was developed on Wii, Grasshopper seems content on Nintendo’s console. As you can read in our Fatal Frame 1 review, taking photographs of ghosts is a big part of Fatal Frame series, so Wiimote motion controls would make perfect sense.

1UP also notes the console-shift for the series, since last we heard about the next Fatal Frame it seemed to be for Xbox 360 and PS3. Producer Keisuke Kikuchi said about Fatal Frame 4 back in 2005: “I already have some ideas that I’d like to do if I had more development time and a more powerful system.” But then again, in 2005, no one knew about the Wii’s upcoming success.

La verdad me parece un insulto a los seguidores de la saga FATAL FRAME k el nuevo juego sea solo para la porqueria de la Wii, en verdad me parece k los gerentes , realizadores y demas de ese juego, deberian darse cuenta k los fans de la saga estaremos mas k decepcionados, y al sacarlo unikammente para esa consola de cuarta, perderan el dinero invertido en la produccion del juego, No sean IDIOTAS aun estan a tiempo, transformen FATAL FRAME 4 para La unica makina k les dio millones en ganancias, es decir PLAYSTATION 2, si las autoridades enkargadas de desarrollar el juego y lanzarlo no se dan cuenta d esto la verdad estuvimos jugando kon la kompañia ekivocada.
UNA VERDADERA DECEPCION ! ! !

Wii’s platform is best suited for family and get together games. The interest isn’t there, nor is the graphic power to make this game what it should be.

Great move! With the Wii’s gameplay I get faaarrr more immersed in the HORROR EXPERIENCE!!! RE4 was a great experience on Wii, looks like Nintendo is finally seeing Wii’s potential for the genre, and if it’s successful enough maybe we could see more Horror games on Wii!

It is also going to be published by Nintendo as well despite Tecmo still developing it. Rumor has it that Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword was so successful that Tecmo also is interested in remaking the NES classic as a full 3D adventure exclusively for the Wii and the guy making the game said that his kids also would like to see more of his games on the Nintendo DS and the Wii.

I can see how the game would be more interesting on wii but all of us fans who have gone through the series on PS2 cant play more (unless you have a wii…) UGH!
They should at least put it on PS2 along with wii…

why on earth should they put a new ideas on old systems. as a true fan of the series you should be excited to be more emersed in the horrer gameplay. im super excited! just wish we had a bit more to offer in the graphics department
