Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games release date now November 20th on Wii, DS version delayed till 2008

Sega has pushed back the Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games release date till November 20th for the Wii and delayed the DS version of the game until early 2008.

Pre-Order Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games for WiiPreviously the Wii version was scheduled for release on November 13th. The new date lodges the game against some stiff competition that also hits on the same day, including Mass Effect for the Xbox 360, Uncharted: Darke’s Fortune for the PS3 and Kane and Lynch: Dead Men (Xbox 360, PS3, PC).

Sega isn’t worried though, they recently announced that they are expecting Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games to sell 4 million units, apparently despite the stiff competition and the delay of the DS version.

Update: A brand new trailer for the game has been released that shows people playing the game including the Triple Jump event. Looks like lots of other games on the Wii in my opinion, but maybe being able to pit Sonic & Mario characters against each other will entice people to give it a go.
