Samba de Amigo coming to Wii!
Dreamcast fans rejoice! Samba de Amigo is coming to Wii, courtesy of Sega and Gearbox Software.
The news was revealed when the latest cover to Nintendo Power was leaked, which features the Samba de Amigo monkey on the top along with the words, “Shake it with Samba de Amigo!”, and the news has since been confirmed.
Samba de Amigo is a classic Dreamcast rhythm music game that game out in 2000. The game shipped with a pair of maracas that the player had to shake high, medium or low as the music played.
Occasionally the player also has to ’strike a pose’ by holding the maracas in various positions. Naturally, the game is a perfect fit for the Wii and it’s motion-sensitive Wii Remote and Nunchuck which could easily mimic the maracas.
We will surely learn much more about Samba de Amigo coming to the Wii soon. Including whether this is an all-new game or simply a port of the Dreamcast title. I’m willing to bet a new game . . . cause they could always bring the original to the Wii Virtual Console in the future. — 1-Up
