Pokemon Diamond and Pearl sell 10 million copies worldwide. Nintendo launches Pokemon Global Trading Station

Nintendo has announced that they are launching the Global Pokemon Trading Station!

At the web-site, Pokemon fans the world over can get the latest info on Pokemon trading trends, stats on Pokemon trading, such as the top 50 most traded, most wanted and most deposited. Players will also be able to bookmark any Pokemon they discover via the site for when they use the GTS in game. And using a spinnable globe, Pokemon fans will be able to check out other trades between other players whilst learning facts about that particular region where the trade is taking place, such as the population, capital city, native language, etc. Who said video games like Pokemon can’t teach you anything! The web-site is alive now.

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl have sold over 10 million copies across the world combined, including 1.6 million in Europe alone since launch 7 weeks ago. These new entries in the series were groundbreaking for Pokemon fans since they are the first to offer online play, including trading and battling. Trade with anyone in the world via the Global Trading Station with-in the game using Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. And now using this new Pokemon service Pokefans can keep up-to-date on all the global trading going on.

YAY! I believe the time to get one is now. Personally I´ll be getting Pearl, cause that diamond one looks like a crystal pony figurine to be honest. THe other one looks like a bald “hard ass” bear… or something big with claws.

Personally, I really wished they went back to Pokemon Yellow and brought two things back. First have a default (first liner) pokemon follow you around like Pikachu did when RPGing. Second, enough with so many legendary pokemon, they can´t be legendary if their are close to 10 in just one game (or world/story/region)… I bet they would have been seen alot more then like say Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres and Mew had been seen in the early Pokemon games. Even Dratini/Dragonair/Dragonite where considered kinda legendary but they never put it up on that ranking cause they had been seen captured more then once.

Thats it… and maybe some Ninja Gaiden type of thing where the battle takes place realtime FMV on the top screen.

I should would like to use the feature in Colosseum (is it? on the Wii game)… if you are playing with a buddy in the same room, to not see the others strategy you could use your DS to input it to the Wii… AWSOME! a grave fault of the previous Pokemon on big console games was the lack of the element of surprise.

Oh I forgot, time to make a real Pokemon fighting game a la Tenkaichi gameplay. I think it would work well with stuff like Agility and Double Team and even Beam (Hyper, Ice, etc) attacks. A more free and close to the anime situation type of fiht would be just what the doctor ordered.

I’d respond to you SM2099, but I’m just plain insulted, I like the look of Diamond much better

I do think it’s still funny that people think Halo 3 will be the best-selling game of 2007, when the Pokemon games clearly already are. Although I’m sure Madden NFL 08 will come close too.

Yup, this game is since months ago the best selling game of 07. Gotta see when they launch next year the third installment for this generation of pokemon. I haven´t seen all the legendary but I bet its one of the main ones… like the ones the will revolve the movies around.

Madden? Best selling game in THE WORLD… not just… I don´t how to finish the phrase with out insulting a group of North America that plays that game and only plays that game.

You’re right, worldwide it’ll be a battle between Pokemon and Halo 3, I mean Microsoft are expecting $200 million in day-one sales worldwide, so if they reach that who knows what can happen.

Okay okay… Pearls are for girls, huh? Supa? Thats actually a new phrase to me becuase I always taught that “Diamonds are a girls best friends.” BURN!
OMG, I can´t believe you would lay that ball up so easily for the dunk. Oh man!

Don´t believe me just look it up in th internet, every popular reference to diamonds or watch Moulin Rouge… better yet jsut look it up on the internet. No body should go through the pain of that movie. Unless your into musicals and stuff.

Anyways… Yeah… I mean Halo3 could just sell under pokemon but make more money cause it cost like 30 bucks more or something along those lines. So maybe microsoft will pull a fast one and try to focus the money rather then the cuantity x unit. Cause DS pretty much has microsoft wipped on consoles sold and and many people will also buy the third installemet that accompanies D&P, so its tough cause DS and Pokemon addicts are very much everywhere and almost anyone maybe a potential costumer of the DS and/or Pokemon.

While Halo3 is a series so you would have to have had the old Xbox or pay for the past two games, play them on on the 360 to get the story AND not have motion sickness when playing FPS cause thats its major physical impediment for millions to play FPS.

This is a tough call… and were almost out this door of 2007, and Halo is launching this month soooo its coming down tonight, sucka! Only time will tell…

I was so much excited to play the game, but I got addicted to ouendan 1 and 2 and after that lost my charger

I want my charger back so badly!!

And as for the total sales, omg 10 million already? thats awesome!

But Halo3 will be on the top 10 no matter what and madden(the franchise as a whole)will also be there.

and lol, SM you got Supa!

lol, Moulin Rouge, eh. I know so many people that love that movie. I saw a scene from it and I couldn’t stand it, seemed so dumb, but I’m not exactly the musical type . . . And Supa, you got owned.

It’s ok to admit it SM2099, you like pink, you girly man. As for anyone owning someone else, I thought arguing on the internet was like running in the special olympics, even if you win… and I’ll leave it at that.

But yeah, Halo 3 will probably earn more money this year, but then again they are doing this huge ad campaign worldwide, so that’s got to cost them. Looks like Pokemon Diamond AND Pearl will come out on top.
