The Halo 3 Xbox 360 just got a release date of September 16th, only 9 days before Halo 3 hits stores and lights the world on fire.

But before we get to that, are you ready for something really cool? Check out this video documentary of a Halo 3 war-scene diorama (noun: a scene, often in miniature, reproduced in three dimensions by placing objects, figures, etc., in front of a painted background), a monument to Master Chief, the hero of humanity, within the game. The video is done in a realistic, documentary style, as if the war-scene was actually real.


Powerful isn’t it? Now go inside the diorama itself with this amazing Halo 3 diorama walkthrough, where you can get an up-close look at the war scene. You can even take a picture and use it as wallpaper! To get in the site simply enter your age, part of the world and country.

Now onto the box sets. The Halo 3 branded Special Edition Xbox 360 console (pictured above) is colored “Spartan Green” with a gold trim and will cost $399. It comes with a 20GB HDD (which is much smaller than the Xbox 360 Elite’s 120GB HDD), one matching wireless controller, a headset, a play-and-charge-kit and exclusive Halo 3 gamer pics and theme, as well as an HDMI output port. It DOES NOT include a copy of the Halo 3 game though, which will hit stores on September 25th in one of three packages: Normal for $59.99, a collector’s edition for $69.99 and a Legendary Edition for $129.99 in America.

However in Europe a Premium Xbox 360 package that includes Halo 3 will also be shipping on September 26th, a day after Halo 3′s release.

The set is a normal Premium Edition, same price, same components (20 GB HDD, wireless controller, and a headset), but includes a copy of the regular edition Halo 3. Which is a great deal for those who have not yet bought an Xbox 360 and want one simply to play Halo 3. Too bad neither Halo 3 Xbox 360 package includes the larger hard drive though.
