New Lost Odyssey (Xbox 360) trailer, game set for February 2008

Lost Odyssey screenshotAt Microsoft’s Pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference in Japan, one point they tried to get across to the Japanese audience was their commitment to the Japanese RPG on Xbox 360. One way they did this was by showing off more games by respected developer Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of Final Fantasy who just recently shipped Blue Dragon and was on-hand to show off his next RPG masterpiece, Lost Odyssey, a game I’m looking forward to a lot more than I was Blue Dragon.

Lost Odyseey is 95% finished and will be released on December 6th in Japan, January 2008 throughout the rest of Asia, and February 2008 in the US and Europe. Sakaguchi demonstrated the game by showing a playable demo, where the active battle system was shown off, in addition to glimpses of the game’s spell-casting and cut-scenes. He even lost a battle while playing!

Check out a new trailer from TGS for Lost Odyssey below to see what this title is all about.

YES! FF with a slightly more rugged hero. Well at least he doesn´t look like he should be on a Johnson & Johnson baby commercial… barely.

The theme and main idea is really intriguing… and it will play like FF!!!

Could it all come together any more perfectly. Yup! Multiplatform it.

After that… Perfect.

I too am totally looking forward to this game. I also love the concept and think the look and style is very cool. And like you I’m happy that it’s traditional and not like an action RPG or something.

Unfortunately for people without a 360, I doubt it’ll come to any other system, given Myst Walker’s focus on Xbox and Microsoft’s financial support. Looks great though, can’t wait to see more of the game including that gameplay video at the show.
