Silent Hill 5 in-depth look. First gameplay footage and re-worked combat system revealed!

Silent Hill 5First gameplay footage of Silent Hill 5 has been revealed. The game has an outstanding look with gorgeous graphics that are highly detailed, but the real punch comes from the special effects which really show off what they can do with the power of next-gen systems in re-working the franchise. Your descent into Silent Hill looks cooler than ever before as it all happens in real-time, and it’s like the paint of the real world literally peels off around you. I was also struck by just how similar the game feels like Silent Hill 2, definitely a good thing.

Silent Hill 5 will also include an all-new combat system! No more cumbersome, slow and boring combat. You will be able to dodge attacks, chain both light and heavy hits and have a multitude of possible options at your disposal at any one time when dealing with enemies (including improved gunplay). This should truly update the franchise and make it feel fresh. Did I mention the series has been handed off to a Western developer? But don’t worry, Akira Yamaoka will produce; he has the confidence of the developers so why shouldn’t we? Check it out yourself in the video below!

GEEZ LUISE! This game has such a great vibe to it. The developers are into it like fans, Akira Yamaoka will give it that in the air creepyness that takes a true storyteller to give in any info medium… This game it like the same in spirit but just evolves slowly but in amazing ways each time.

I really wanna see how this pans out. Now I´m really excited by the new morphin of the world in real time but, I wouldn´t want to loose that loose counciousness and just wake up inthis messed up world type of feeling. Kinda like those urban stories of guys chillin at a disco, they meet a hot chick and long story short they wake up in a tub of ice with their kidneys missing. Know what I mean… that was that creepyness of just putting you in the most messed up situations that I wish doesn´t dissapear.

Is this ´08? I can wait… they ´re gonna make big bosses (no MGS pun hear) this time. Not that Eddie or Alessa where bad… just you would think in a world braught up to harvenger the devil… you would see a high ranking demon or two.

I just wanna see how twisted these creatures are gonna get… cuase have in mind this guy is a solider (plenty of horrible things you see on the battlefield)… and haver in mind that all creatures in the Silent Hill are a warped up twisted version of what the main character´s mind is all about. Now how extra messed up will these creatures be? I mean isn´t one of them like just hand coming out their face, no eyes… stuff like that?

Wouldn´t it be cool like… and you know now to grose anyone out or anything… but like they would put at time in the hallways children and women screaming echoes (just lightly and sutile) and like dismembered creatures or creatures with some kind of torture device in them. Just making that Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome just really kick in and multiply it x100!

Oh man… I don´t know who the guys are that are making the game but I would love to be part of the creative staff.

Last… just hope they don´t turn the entire game into some kinda of Social Commentary on the Irak/Bush/USA thing… maybe put like really light reference but not to the point to make it really noticible cause thats not what SIlent HIll is about. You´re thrown into another world inside this world (or dimension if you will) and you don´t have time to be remark stuff like that… cause who´s gonna hear you?, a bunch of creepy kids and weird nurses? No man, this is like the root of evil your trying to get through and away from, escaping barely by your nails and teeth

    SILENT HILL.. RULZ!

    Nice in-depth post their SM2099, I can see you’re really a fan!

I too cannot wait to see what these guys do with the series and where they take it, at least beyond what we’ve seen already. The video truly did give me confidence that we can trust this team.

Yes the game is 2008 for sure, but I believe it’s still TBA. I do too wonder what the real-time world-change will mean for the game, but honestly, after having it the same for the last four games, I think all the changes will be refreshing.

They can’t keep pumping out the same stuff, so I’m glad they are going in this direction, and the war deal is definitely different. But yes, no Iraq-related stuff please.
