THQ kid’s character Tak gets his own cartoon series on Nickelodeon
You may remember a platformer from last generation called Tak and the Power of Juju. Well Tak, the little native village hero of the game series, will FINALLY be getting his own computer-generated TV series that has just started airing on Nickelodeon, who co-developed the game with THQ last gen.
I say “finally” because I remember the plan was to release a TV show soon after the first game launched, but apparently that never came to fruition . . . now does seem an odd time to re-emerge the character given the fact that no new Tak games have been announced, but I wouldn’t doubt one is coming now that the show has started.
Like the games, the TV show takes place in a tribal fantasy world and follows a teenaged apprentice of a shaman who must use the sacred power of juju to thwart the plans of the evil Tlaloc. The show boasts a cast of celebrity voice actors, with the voice of Tak being provided by Hal Sparks (Talk Soup, Queer as Folk), with Patrick Warburton (The Venture Brothers, the live-action version of The Tick) reprising his role from the games as the Tak’s buddy Lok. — Via GameSpot
