Breath of Fire II, Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, Super Contra hit the Wii Virtual Console today

Today Nintendo adds three new classic games to the popular Wii Shop Channel. The games go live at 9AM Pacific time. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at stores like Amazon (see to your right).

We’ve included videos of each game for nostalgia’s sake or so you can see if it’s for you. This week’s new games are:

Breath of Fire II (Super NES, 1 player, rated E for Everyone – Mild Violence, 800 Wii Points = $8) Capcom’s second RPG in the Breath of Fire series from 1995.

Ghouls ‘n Ghosts (Sega Genesis, 1 player, rated E for Everyone – Fantasy Violence, 800 Wii Points = $8) Sega’s Arcade port of the Capcom second platformer in the Ghosts ‘n Goblins series from 1989.

Super C aka Super Contra (NES, 1 player, rated E for Everyone – Mild Violence, 500 Wii Points = $5) Konami’s Arcade port of the second shooter in the Contra series from 1990.
