Runaway 2: The Dream of the Turtle DS port info and first video
Developer Cyanide of the hit PC adventure game Runaway 2: The Dream of the Turtle, will be porting the game fully to DS. Expect the game in November 2007. Here’s how they’ll do it:
Everything from the PC game has been integrated into the DS version, including: music, sound, and cinematics, which are all made possible by using a new codec to compress high quality media onto the DS’s cartridges. The story follows closely to the original, but with modified gameplay that takes into account the DS’s stylus input and screens. The inventory is displayed on the top screen by default, but can be swapped for stylus selection.
The storyline follows the adventures of Brian and Gina who are in a plane accident, and are forced to bail out – however with one parachute the honorable Brian shoves his lady out and goes down with the plane. Surviving in the jungle, however, he sets off to search for his girlfriend. Watch how a 7.5GB PC game fits on a 128MB DS cartridge.
