Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures MMORPG delayed until 2008
Age of Conan was scheduled for October 30th. But is delayed to a release date of March 25th 2008! Yes I hear those barbarian tears dropping . . . keep it together guys! Men aren’t supposed to cry!
It looks like one half of Conan fans soul’s have been smashed to bits once again . . . as this is the fourth delay for Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, the upcoming Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) set in Robert E. Howard’s Conan universe.
The good news is that the other half of our Conan-loving souls will still be happy if all goes to plan, as “Conan The Barbarian“, the upcoming Xbox 360 & PS3 action adventure game, is still scheduled and sitting bloody with a release date of October 2007 . . . Let’s hope that it stays that way, although not having a concrete date is starting to worry me a bit . . . .
But let’s keep our wits about us men! Remember that no delay is truly a bad delay . . . because it all turns out better in the end! The reason for the Age of Conan push back was due to feedback of those brave warriors playing the beta . . . and isn’t that exactly what beta’s are for? Obviously something wasn’t quite right and so the Funcom team, the game’s developer, chose to delay instead of release an inferior product. And that always gets applause in my book!
Funcom’s CEO Trond Arne Aas’ exact words were, “After careful consideration, and analysis of recent beta feedback, we believe that the new release date is in the best interest of the gamers, our company, and our owners. We are fully committed to delivering games with absolute quality, and in the current MMO marketplace, we know that only the best is good enough to truly succeed.” He stated that this delay was regretted, but necessary. Good work men! Now get back to it so you don’t have to delay any further!
