PSP Versus PSP Lite comparison. New slim PSP 2000 hands-on video

Sony calls it the new PSP or PSP 2000, we call it the PSP slim or PSP lite, but whatever you call it it’s got some nice upgrades to make it worth an in-depth look. That’s where Cnet’s hands-on video comes in. At E3 2007 Sony’s Senior Product Manager John Koller explained all the new updates in detail.

These new features include: a 33% lighter weight, size is 19% slimmer, improved responsiveness D-pad, new speakers that have also been moved up, WiFi switch moved to the top, new UMD loading tray, the USB port now charges the PSP as well, of course the new video-out function for pictures, videos & games where the PSP becomes the controller (cable not included), twice the RAM (now 64MB) for shorter loading times, and new enamel colors Piano Black & Ice Silver for the handheld (Ceramic White bundle later on).

Double the RAM for “increased loading time”??

Don’t you mean increased RAM to “reduce” loading time?

Or is this something that’s wrong with the new PSP lite?

I agree with shane. Slimmer, lighter!!! Please!!! The original is better, and stronger. Woweee!!! More ram….for wat? U want fast gaming get ps3. And parents take ur kid off the mc donalds diet. So when they sneak the psp to school, they dont get mad they cant get the orginal psp outta their pocket cus their leg is too fat!!! Cus then instead of wishing they were lite and slim. They wish the psp was. That way they can fail gym and avoid being made fun of because they sweat crisco oil.

LOL sooooo true, i’m with u lot i’m not spend more money on something that more or less the same thing…… my psp will do fine, until the psp3000 with added food tray and a shitter :p

ive got the ice silver PSP and is the shit is better than the last one i had wich was the 1001 version i got it at best buy when i took my old one because of UMD reading problems. The psp slim and lite outruns the old one wich sucks by alot every one buy the new one its very cool you can also get the new one that is coming out it is special edition color red

the fat psp is better. were not going to pay more money for it to be slimmer. the psp 1000 is loved for feeling right in the hands. its not to fat. its like those models. their so skinny and nasty. ok i would love the fat to be brighter outside and video out but not for that much. if sony buys my psp off me for that much then i will buy 1. i will never pay that utill my psp dies or something.

I just love what TAZ said…. sweating Crisco oil…. thats a classic one…. ok back to the psp lite… after watching this VDO and over 2 hours of research im buying the psp lite cuz it can support home brew :p
