We’ve included a video of Shinobi III for nostalgia’s sake or so you can see if it’s for you, since this like Metroid and Kirby’s Ghost Trap (aka Avalanche) is another PAL first. This week’s new games are:

The latest round of Sega Mega Drive (aka Genesis) retro releases on Virtual Console includes these titles.

Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master is the sequel to the classic The Revenge of Shinobi and sees ninjutsu hero Joe Musashi returning to battle the resurrected crime syndicate Neo Zeed.

From Treasure, makers of Gunstar Heroes, comes action-platformer Dynamite Headdy. As the eponymous hero, use your detachable head to battle evil puppets through a series of theatrical-themed stages.

Shining Force is the acclaimed turn-based strategy RPG that puts you in command of a brave warrior troupe tasked with defeating the armies of the Lord of Darkness. A huge, challenging quest awaits!

Turbografx action-puzzler Drop Off is a variation on the classic bouncing ball-style action game, in which you must clear a path through obstacles such as apples and watermelons. Princess Izumi has been possessed and put under a sleeping spell, so it’s up to the heroic Takashi to enter Izumi’s dreams and save her from this nightmarish curse.

On top of those four VC games, Australia received the previously unreleased Turbografx games, Ninja Spirit, Blazing Lazers, World Sports Competition, Dead Moon and J.J. & Jeff. Strangely Australia did not get Drop Off yet.
