Game Critics E3 2007 awards announced. Rock Band claims most awards with three, Mass Effect is runner-up
The Game Critics Association has announced the winners of it’s 2007 Game Critics Awards, where they handed out awards for the best playable games shown at E3 2007, which was held last month in sunny Santa Monica. Although this year’s expo was downsized, it proved to be a great show regardless simply due to the sheer number of excellent games shown, and they were further along than usual for an E3 showing.
Rock Band, the next music game from Guitar Hero maker’s Harmonix, proved to be the most impressive playable game at E3 07 according to the Game Critics Association, who awarded it with three specific awards. Following that was Bioware’s incredible looking Mass Effect, with two awards.
The winning platform went to the Xbox 360 which picked up 11 awards for various games on that system, followed by the PS3 with 8 awards. The Wii sadly only picked up one award, which obviously goes against popular opinion as far as sales numbers among the general population is concerned.
As far as publishers go, the publishing giant EA led everyone else with six awards, followed by Microsoft with three.
