The Godfather 2 confirmed by head of EA Games

In March of 2006, Electronic Arts released The Godfather, a game based on the classic movie (and the first in a string of mob-related titles that included a Sopranos and Scarface game).

It came out on the the Xbox, PS2 and PC. In September, they ported it to the PSP and Xbox 360. And then, a year later, once the new consoles hit, they would release ANOTHER version. This time both the Wii and PS3 version had unique features. The former was called the “Blackhand Edition” and the latter was called the “Don’s Edition”.

And now, in a complete surprise to no one, EA Games head Frank Gibeau has confirmed that “The Godfather 2″ is in development. This was revealed at a shareholder’s meeting, when he responded to a question about how EA deals with more edgier titles - with the question referencing the way that Disney uses labels such as Miramax as a subdivision for those mature titles, and he answered, “The appeal of those types of games is growing as the demographics start to open up for that older demographic. We make products like Godfather 2, Army Of Two, Crysis - a lot of products that appeal to that older customer.”

No release date, pricing, platforms or other further details were announced but we’ll keep you posted on the title.

I love Blackhand Edition and i’m looking forward to this one. I hope they make a part three too.

scince in the first godfather you become don of ny i think next godfather will be expanding your empire in las vegas and maybe som kinda twist like the other 4 families in the first godfather form up and start taking everyone out in the corleones because the game went a little to quick it should of stopped at you being a capo:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:

i played the xbox 360 version of the godfather and i loved it! i can’t wait for EA to release part 2. i’m sure it’s gonna be even better than the original…

i have beat the firse game on x box and i loved it! the game did slip from the movie at times but it was still really good. and it would be a good idea that the second one expands to vegas…but i think you should also be able to play some times in New York because the enviorment has that sertan feeling that makes you want to play for hours and hours. keep up the good work

The godfather version on the psp was very interesting and i would like to play the to be released godfather 2on the same console .i would like to ask a question ,can EA or SONY make it possible to port it to the psp.
