Splinter Cell Conviction (Xbox 360, PC) release date delayed till spring 2010

Ubisoft has announced that they have delayed the release of the latest game in their stealth-action series, Splinter Cell: Conviction, till February 23rd, 2010. The game is the latest in a long line of Xbox 360 exclusives (although it’s also scheduled for release on PC) and it aims to reinvent the Splinter Cell saga.

Original articles from 2007 & 2008: Splinter Cell Conviction has been taken “back to the drawing board” by Ubisoft Montreal reports Xbox World 360 magazine, adding that the game has now been delayed to 2009 or even as late as Spring 2010. Although it’s currently set to Q2 2009.

In the game, you once again take on the role of Sam Fisher, only this time you are a fugitive and you’re being ruthlessly hunted by the very government you once served. The key to your survival is to improvise, adapt and overcome as you wander through crowds in broad daylight!

To survive, you must build an underground network of allies who will help you obtain hi-tech gadgets and stay one step ahead of your pursuers as you struggle to unmask the forces that want you dead. Splinter Cell Conviction will deliver an adrenaline rush of game play with blood-pumping chase sequences, close combat and intense gun battles.

wow u guys need to calm down ya its being delayed they wanna make it as good as they can theres alot of competition rite now and assassins creed was a great game this may resemble it somewhat but itll be so much better and orgasmic wen ur playin it

many more new engines for the games are being made right now, which is probably the reason it is being delayed so much, because with assassins creed the graphics were good and the gameplay was good but since like i said all the new engines are being made the game is probably being changed and they will be incorperating the new engines into this to make it so much better….if not then it is just really damn stupid that its taking so long lol

game got delayed so much becos its a replica of bourne films and they wanted to see how the film panned out, like taking walkie talkies off guards is in the game, dnt tht happen in bourne supremacy, and coincidence tht game finished couple week after last bourne film! big scam, still gonna buy it tho

well i dont care about the time its taken to release this but dang WTF splinter cell is exactlly that SPLENTER CELL you are part of black opps for the government not against it, with cool gadgets and what not.this is such a sad rip off of Assassin’s or Bourne. I want my PDA AND NVG BACK ubi.give us some real time crap like what the f— is about to go off in the world with the new tech it would be off the hook. this has kinda like been waiting for BF 3 for the PC LOL>

I have held a torch for the splinter cell series for a long time, and I must sadly say that this delay has almost completely withered away my love for this game series.

yeah but it will probably come right back once you play it it looks incredible but the splinter games have always looked fantastic

Hope you get it up and running soon! All of the games preceeding it were totally awsome and i can’t wait to play it. So hurry it up already!! But you should totally get it!!
