Ubisoft has announced that they have delayed the release of the latest game in their stealth-action series, Splinter Cell: Conviction, till April, 2010. The game is the latest in a long line of Xbox 360 exclusives (although it’s also scheduled for release on PC) and it aims to reinvent the Splinter Cell saga.

Original articles from 2007 & 2008: Splinter Cell Conviction has been taken “back to the drawing board” by Ubisoft Montreal reports Xbox World 360 magazine, adding that the game has now been delayed to 2009 or even as late as Spring 2010. Although it’s currently set to Q2 2009.

In the game, you once again take on the role of Sam Fisher, only this time you are a fugitive and you’re being ruthlessly hunted by the very government you once served. The key to your survival is to improvise, adapt and overcome as you wander through crowds in broad daylight!

To survive, you must build an underground network of allies who will help you obtain hi-tech gadgets and stay one step ahead of your pursuers as you struggle to unmask the forces that want you dead. Splinter Cell Conviction will deliver an adrenaline rush of game play with blood-pumping chase sequences, close combat and intense gun battles.

I like the jesse jane idea. and by the way you dont have to shoot lambert, you can shoot that other guy making to do it.another thing they should definitly take there time cause the longer they take the better ideas they will come up with.

I think this should be an extension on the 360. It decides what happens in you conviction game. You have to have bought splinter cell: double agent. And at the end where you decide to kill lambert is where the conviction game decides your story. If you kill lambert then the goverment tries to kill you. If you kill the bad guy then his minions come after you. Like I said it should be an extention.

NO MORE DOUBLE AGENT MULTIPLAYER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRING BACK THE ACCUALLY STEALTH CHAOS THEORY GAMEPLAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!….do that and i will buy this game no matter what the single player is like.

Sick of the delays, best franchise being treated like an afterthought. If only they realized they could pump out 2 or 3 versions a year and sell millions. Ubisoft is dumb.

Really love the “Jason Bourne” look of the game, but I didn’t know you’d actually be Sam Fisher again. I heard it was somebody else, is that true?
And I liked Double agent =P
