Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock coming this winter for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and PS2, game showcased in videos

No doubt one of the biggest games this holiday (like the last two) will be Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, which is this time coming to us from developer Neversoft (Yup the Tony Hawk guys) as the previous developer Harmonix focuses on their new game Rock Band.

But no need to worry, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock is looking to light up the stage just as hard as the previous versions. New in this third entry are an updated interface, all-new power-ups, an online multiplayer mode, more realistic looking characters and better graphics and effects and wireless guitars included in the box. The characters on stage will even lip-synch to the songs due to facial motion capture!

Power-Ups (or “modifiers” as they’re calling them) include:
* Doubling the amount of notes your opponent has to play
* Rattling their screen
* Overloading their amp
* Requiring them to play lefty
* Changing their difficulty level
* Breaking their string (fixed by rapidly jamming the fret button)

Up to three of these temporary modifiers can be piled on top of one another at a time, which will greatly extend how long they last.

Also included will be a few rock “legends” as the name implies, who you can battle against, including Slash (the former guitarist of Guns N’ Roses and current member of Velvet Revolver).

With the recent news that Rock Band will include Metalica songs and will have entire albums available for download (The Who - Who’s Next following the game’s release), I am finding it increasingly difficult to get excited about GH3.

it dosn’t say if you can use oldder guitars with it (example if you can use the guitar from hero 2 for ps2 with hero 3 so you have 2 guitar can somebody help here cos, that will tell me what if i should get it on ps2 or wii
