Wii lightsaber game from LucasArts in the Star Wars universe underway
At the Hollywood & Games Summit panel in Los Angeles, Senior VP at LucasArts, Jim Ward answered the question if a lightsaber game for Nintendo’s Wii is underway.
He replied: “We’re all over that, and internally we have already played a lightsaber game on the Wii. It’s a lot of fun, and we’ll get there.” The whole concept of a title using a lightsaber of Nintendo Wii is in place! There’ll be some stuff out this Fall – it’s going to be a lot of fun.”
Gamasutra reports it’s unclear whether Mr. Ward was referring to the TT Games-developed LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga that combines all six Star Wars movies in one videogame, and will be released in Fall 2007 on multiple formats including the Wii. The Complete Saga product page of the Wii version notes: “Motion-sensitive inputs give you exciting new ways to control your Lego Star Wars characters.”
Or whether the company is planning further, as yet unannounced Wii-specific Star Wars games. LucasArts will likely to reveal more info about its upcoming lightsaber Star Wars titles at the E3 Media Summit in Los Angeles that runs from July 11 to 13.
