Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony join the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) tripling it in size
Due to the recent down-sizing of the game-industry’s E3 expo, other expos are now bulking up in size. Perhaps none more so than the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) which has now effectively tripled in size, since Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony have announced that they will be at the show with their own booths.
The new PAX 2007 show has been moved to Seattle’s Washington State Convention & Trade Center (so they can have much more floorspace) and will run from August 24th to 26th. They have also announced that booth-space for PAX has completely sold out.
The Penny Arcade Expo branched out from the original Penny Arcade web-comic, a site that grew and grew into legions of fans. In addition to the expo being all about gaming, they also cover board and table-top games, card games, paper role-playing games and other such things.
The show will also feature concerts from such artists as Jonathan Coulton, Freezepop, the NESkimos, Optimus Rhyme and The Oneups, as well as tournaments, contests, and game-related discussion panels. This year’s keynote address will be delivered by actor Will Wheaton, best known as Ensign Wesley Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation.
