The Master Chief face mocks you after his helmet is taken off
At the end of Halo: Combat Evolved on Xbox the Master Chief is shown taking his helmet off, which reveals his true “face”. Normally you just can’t see it as the camera pans out, but with a different camera view someone has managed to zoom in. The result is pretty funny!
That last scene has nothing to do with the Chief, but was done with a devcam and shows a Grunt talking during the final run on the Maw. He says “Good thing that Food Nipple’s waiting for me at the Starship, cause man, I’ve worked up a BIG GRUNTY THIRST!”
Bungie have said they’d keep Master Chief’s face a secret, 
that way players can identify themselves in the Chief’s place better. But in the Halo 3 Multiplayer Beta on Xbox 360, when you get too close to another person you can see inside their helmet, and see the Master Chief’s face (or a standard Spartan’s face?) A great find, but it’s probably just a mockup. Still, it shows a scar on his left eye and a breathing mask.
