Pre-order Metroid Prime 3: Corruption for WiiThe latest issue of games magazine “Play” has revealed some new details about Metroid Prime 3 Corruption that’ll be released for Wii this summer in the USA on August 20th, 2007.

The editors played the game at Nintendo’s Media Summit recently and listed the new impressions.

* “Play” says it could be the biggest revolution in FPS gaming since Halo.
* First level – You are attacked on a spaceship while meeting with the ship’s captain…action packed
* Second level – floating city focused on exploration
* “Play” feels motion controls work better than dual joystick
* Super sensitive pointer in “advanced” mode
* Beam stacking like in Super Metroid
* Visor switch: Hold minus and flick Wiimote in certain directions
* Back tracking in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption makes more sense than in previous Primes
* Extra development time was to give the game more polish. Nintendo wanted “Twilight Princess” levels of polish. Game is focused on Metroid fans and hardcore gamers, but still accessible to newcomers due to controls.
* Larger environments, bloom lighting, better textures than Prime 2

The next tidbits you may consider spoilers so thread carefully.

* Corruption Mode not available in demo
* Boss fight with Ridley at the end of the first level. Excellent difficulty curve by the time you reach the boss.

yes! im excited, thats gonna give me another great game to play! and by the end of the summer too! i hope it has a multiplayer similar to that of hunters, and is online, anyone know?

SPiRiT, I have heard nothing about online, but after including it in Hunters and including a multiplayer mode in Echoes (although it didn’t fare so well among critics) I would say it’s definitely a possiblity.

Then again, the reason they didn’t include one in the first Prime was to focus on the single-player game, and some people complained that the single player in Echoes would’ve been better without the energy they had to focus on multiplayer, so I guess we’ll just have to wait and find out.

I wouldn’t hold my breath though.

And yes I LOVE the Prime games! Can’t wait for this one!

“it could be the biggest revolution in FPS gaming since Halo.”
…? Halo (1 or 2 for that matter) was hardly revolutionary.
