Prince of Persia Classic compared to original

Prince of Persia Classic was this Wednesday’s Xbox Live Arcade release from Ubisoft. The original 1989 Prince of Persia hit platform game has been ported to many systems over the years following its release, but none as great as this 3D graphics in a 2D world remake on Xbox 360’s Xbox Live Arcade. Let’s compare the different versions of PoP!

Looks great! I can’t wait to play it, since I never got to play the original. It’s neat to see how close to the original it comes too.

Yeh I was amazed at how great the animation from the original (that was based on real people’s movements) still looks. I wish they had included that as well as they do with many XBLA releases. I used to be so addicted to the PC version we had and this one plays just as great if not better.

I think it’s so exciting that teams are remaking games like this – especially for budget releases! I hope we see some more soon : )

Yeah between this PoP remake and the Pac-Man CE sequel from last week it’s been a good month for classics, but I wouldn’t call them budget at 800 points, at 400 points they’d be no-brainers to pick up and a must-have for anyone though. But you can’t really blame third-parties for having to pay Microsoft a 30% licensing fee or something ridiculously high along those lines, so to make a profit they have to charge double.
