Guitar Hero 3 initial 11 songs and guitar details revealed

Activision has announced Guitar Hero 3 will be coming to PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii in fall 2007. For the first time there are worldwide online multiplayer modes and new multiplayer action-inspired battle mode, grueling boss battles, unlockable content, and authentic rock venues.

The PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii versions each come with a new wireless exclusive Gibson guitar Les Paul model that will include a removable faceplates allowing you to later personalize your guitar, and a new button color design that will be integrated for an even greater authentic feel and rock experience. The PS2 version also gets a new exclusive shape, the classic Kramer guitar, also a Gibson brand.

The initial list of 11 face-melting songs include:

* Cherub Rock (by Smashing Pumpkins)
* Sabotage (by Beastie Boys)
* The Metal (by Tenacious D)
* My Name is Jonas (by Weezer)
* Knights of Cydonia (by Muse)
* Rock And Roll All Nite (as made famous by Kiss)
* School’s Out (as made famous by Alice Cooper)
* Slow Ride (as made famous by Fog Hat)
* Cult of Personality (by Living Colour)
* Barracuda (as made famous by Heart)

Hey guy who s not a dumbass,some of these kids talking about the new metal might be talking about extra songs that you can buy at the store in it.I hear there might be more dethklok(just a rumor),so not to be a total d*ck but lay off the kids into the new metal.

Well Metallica…isn’t Modern Rock….Screw Modern Rock…….I love old school. There Is way better bands out there like AC/DC….Aerosmith…..Pink Floyd….Wheres everybody’s head at? I mean come on……..Creaters of guitar hero get with the program. Please. The game is still Fun as hell but………..get old school. I want a guitar hero game with nothing but AC/DC on it!!!!

the makers of guitar hero have to put in songs from a lot of genres. the new one has dragonforce, salyer, iron maiden, and metallica. but it also has the rolling stones, kiss, heat, black sabbath, guns n roses, and not as mettaly stuff.

it would really be a good idea if they put more types of songs on there, instead of just classic. i mean not everybody listens to classic rock. they need to expand their audience by putting more variety into it, or just making a separate game for metal. if they put some f*cking system of a down on there, i would buy the game just for that. it would be f*cking sweet if they put aerials or toxicity or even byob on there. but the cover would sound like total sh*t. serj’s voice is too unique for just some random dude to perfect. soad atw

ive had the game since sunday and already beaten it on expert, but its lacking a lot of good artists. Atreyu, system of a down, and maybe even some more of dethklok would be great for the game

holy sh*t can i smack some of u think its called people sometimes want new shit,but sometimes old school.They have to be a bit middle weighted with the music because if it was all old school some people would get bored of listening to the same song every time they turn on the game they need to put in some songs by korn,slipknot,marry,static x,etc.To grab there attention,face it some one thats 14 dosn’t want to play shit that there dad listen to in high school i am sorry but its so true.
At least the young ones still know how to rock,and some know how to mosh,
it all and for the guys that are ranting on about korn f*cking suck then dont f*cking listen to it quite criticizing are music like its crap because its not,each to there own if u dont like it keep it to urself.

Im only buying this game cause of Social Distortion. I still think they need “Great White Buffalo” by Ted Nugent and some better Soc D songs though.
