Parasite Eve 3 sequel announced by Square-Enix as cell phone game for Japan
Square-Enix Party 2007 is turning out to be be quite the revealing event. This weekend, seven years after Parasite Eve II, at the conference Square-Enix announced the return of their Parasite Eve survival horror RPG series in a new sequel. Parasite Eve 3 was revealed as a cell phone game for Japan.
The above Parasite Eve 3 art shows series protagonist Aya Brea returns not just to fight Neo-Mitochondrial Creatures, but by the looks of it her own inner issues also pop up again.
Sadly (NTT DoCoMo FOMA) cell phone games are hardly ever released outside of Japan, so chances of an English cell phone version seem slim, although it would be a perfect candidate for a DS or PSP port.
1UP was at the event and describes “the exceptionally brief trailer featured nothing more than a sexy new drawing of heroine Aya Brea (holding a gun to her mouth!) and a poignant remix of the game’s main musical theme. Ugh. Well, at least this proves that the series isn’t over…”
With the rendered cutscenes on the PlayStation being a big part of what made the Parasite Eve games stand out at the time, you have to wonder if a mobile phone game can live up to visual expectations?

Yeah, I can’t imagine how sad big fans of this series must feel right now 
But at least they are making a third game that could still be ported to the DS, since that’s as popular as cell phones in Japan. *wishful thinking*
