Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars hinted at for PS3 and Wii by EA. Xbox 360 version map pack coming.

Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars on PCCommand & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars was launched little over a month ago on PC, and last week saw the Xbox 360 console release of the RTS hit franchise. With the successful implementation of RTS keyboard scheme controls on a gamepad, a release on a similar system — the PlayStation 3 — seems logical. But what about the Wii, who’s motion sensitive 3D controls could provide the perfect mouse replacement.

In a Gameplayer interview the game’s Senior Producer Mike Glosecki dives into these notions when asked if a PS3 version is possible: “We haven’t officially confirmed anything, but I don’t see why it’s not feasible, the controls are practically the same,” he said.

A Wii version of the game would be a trickier proposition, he said: “There isn’t as much under the hood, so it obviously won’t look as good. But as far as control goes, I don’t see why it can’t be done.” Although EA hasn’t made any official announcement about a Wii version, he conceded that the Wii’s impressive sales numbers are difficult to ignore and therefore worth investigating.

As for future updates for the Xbox 360 version of Command & Conquer 3, Mr. Glosecki commented that new maps will be made available on the Xbox Live Marketplace over the coming months: “We’re still talking with Microsoft about the finer details… They basically make a recommendation on how much we should charge for the [map pack] content, but the ultimate decision is made on our side.”
