Call of Duty 5 or 6: Future Warfare in development?

After Activision’s Call of Duty series will make the jump from WWII scenarios to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in late 2007, you have to wonder what lies ahead. Call of Duty 5: Future Warfare should be the next logical step in the FPS series!

From stopping the Nazis from taking over in World War II, to tackling terrorists around the globe in the 21st century, to fighting futuristic human factions on a barren planet Earth or alien interplanetary battles in the 22nd century?!

It’s only a rumor at this point, but chances of Infinity Ward following the track of DICE’s Battlefield franchise are very high. By the time this comes out the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 should have a big enough userbase to get a version of the game outside of the PC release. — Via GameSpot

June 16th 2008 UPDATE: Call of Duty 5: World at War was confirmed as the official title of the next COD game in WWII. Hopefully Call of Duty 6 will be Future Warfare.

I think their should be NO stupid future game. I think you should make a game about the pacific in ww2 if you don’t whant to go back to ww2 then do a game about IRAQ or IRAN and make sure it has some kind of supressing fire system.By the way i liked the sniper mission on CALL of DUTY 4

Not a futuristic game,please,it kills all the good stuff of the COD Series I like it real,not a futuristic shit the filled with imaginary weapons and aliens with 7 heads,no.Better the real thing,the serious one.The things suited for Call of Duty not for Crysis.Let’s stick to the ground for Call of Duty,let’s be realistic.

It’s already been announced Treyarch will be doing #5. CoD6 is the one to wait for.
