Call of Duty 5 or 6: Future Warfare in development?

After Activision’s Call of Duty series will make the jump from WWII scenarios to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in late 2007, you have to wonder what lies ahead. Call of Duty 5: Future Warfare should be the next logical step in the FPS series!

From stopping the Nazis from taking over in World War II, to tackling terrorists around the globe in the 21st century, to fighting futuristic human factions on a barren planet Earth or alien interplanetary battles in the 22nd century?!

It’s only a rumor at this point, but chances of Infinity Ward following the track of DICE’s Battlefield franchise are very high. By the time this comes out the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 should have a big enough userbase to get a version of the game outside of the PC release. — Via GameSpot

June 16th 2008 UPDATE: Call of Duty 5: World at War was confirmed as the official title of the next COD game in WWII. Hopefully Call of Duty 6 will be Future Warfare.

I think that the next COD would be similar to COD4, but with a better storyline. Let’s face it, COD4 didn’t have what you’d call and enthrawling plot. Personally, I’d like to see something like COD: Desert Storm.

Let’s leave the future warfare to Tom Clancy’s End War.

No, there has been a good Vietnam game. It is called Battlefield: Vietnam. It’s as good as you can expect.
I think a Future Warfare would be excellent for COD5 or 6. But I hope it would be different than 2142 or Halo 3. I would like to see more imagination, like Space Station battles, Space Colonies, futuristic Earth cities. Space Marines, anti-gravity vehicles, interstellar ships.
It would be seriously aweseome.

Nooo not another future warfare game on a barren earth!!!! enough of those, if i want future fps i will play halo, or any of the other future warfare games. We need cod4.1 or something, I love the modern warfare, but we need refined gameplay such as your buddies dont just stay alive the whole time, and you dont kill millions of terrorists per level, it should be more stealth and tactics, with a good suppressing fire and cover system………please no future warfare i will not buy

Make another Modern Warfare game, and add the Chinese, and Pakistani, Indian, more Russians. How bout Austrailia with an ass kicking Navy doing Tomahawk strikes called in. Future Games are f*cking weak. Lasers and Force Fields will get me to end this franchise purchase history. F*ck that lets get Iran on this one or Venezuela, and Drug Gods of war. Make it more relevant. North Korea Hello! China should be our pals on this one though like the Russians in COD2?

I agree futuristic is just sh*t. What would be awesome is like the fourth one with modern weapons but none of the futuristic weapon sh*t and the fighting in the U.S. Just think about fighting to protect dc and being in the lincoln memorial sniping away of on top of the capitol. Although a vietnam game would also be pretty cool i still think the U.S. battle would be the best

Omg Call of Duty 5, 4′s just out and im already looking forward to it, i know activision can do great things. Only suggestion, we want more guns, like the damn near same amount as ghost recon advanced warfighter, to pick and mix with!!
