Call of Duty 5 or 6: Future Warfare in development?

After Activision’s Call of Duty series will make the jump from WWII scenarios to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in late 2007, you have to wonder what lies ahead. Call of Duty 5: Future Warfare should be the next logical step in the FPS series!

From stopping the Nazis from taking over in World War II, to tackling terrorists around the globe in the 21st century, to fighting futuristic human factions on a barren planet Earth or alien interplanetary battles in the 22nd century?!

It’s only a rumor at this point, but chances of Infinity Ward following the track of DICE’s Battlefield franchise are very high. By the time this comes out the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 should have a big enough userbase to get a version of the game outside of the PC release. — Via GameSpot

June 16th 2008 UPDATE: Call of Duty 5: World at War was confirmed as the official title of the next COD game in WWII. Hopefully Call of Duty 6 will be Future Warfare.

I see that COD 5 is to be released but it doesn’t say if it will be for PC’s or not. You made extra games for the Xbox and PS2′s that we PC’s didn’t get. Just remember where gaming all began…with PC’s

Computer games require more skill then that of and xbox360 or Ps3 hopefully computer gamers will be able to kick your guys ass’s online in the future when xbox360 ps3 and computer can all go on the same servers, its gunna be a slaughter for u guys

microsoft did annouce that hopefully in late 2008 early 2009 pc gamers and xbox 360 gamers will be able to play on the same servers but will only be for such ganes as halo 2, gear of war, and cod4.their expecting this to be around the release date of gears 2.

well least we know CoD5 is really a WW2 game now \o/ – I have so much unfinished CoD WWII business.

I wonder now after researching about the CoD Card game with some of it based on CoD5 (with no CoD4 influence) I think CoD5 will be set in Italy. The story of the cards follow into Italy and Italy has never been in any other Call of Duty games.

OMG I can almost picture it…

Italy lost the most lives and it was very brutal.
it will be the invasion of Sicilly, then central Italy, Rome & Northern Italy with Canadian, US & British troops…
The location backdrops will be amazing if it’s italy during WWII…

hell no. if CoD 5 is set in WW2 i will not buy it, CoD 4 made the most money than any of the others for a reason

OK If Any off you watch Inside Xbox they did an interview. The Game is called Call Of Duty: World At War and yes it is a WWII game.
But i don’t remember where it is set. They said there will be custom class’s and perks like last time and now they added vehicles with vehicle perks. It is supposed to be so realistic and mature if you stab someone in the neck you can see the slash and the blood pouring out. The trailer will be realesed around June 21.
So thats all i know for now
