Call of Duty 5 or 6: Future Warfare in development?

After Activision’s Call of Duty series will make the jump from WWII scenarios to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in late 2007, you have to wonder what lies ahead. Call of Duty 5: Future Warfare should be the next logical step in the FPS series!

From stopping the Nazis from taking over in World War II, to tackling terrorists around the globe in the 21st century, to fighting futuristic human factions on a barren planet Earth or alien interplanetary battles in the 22nd century?!

It’s only a rumor at this point, but chances of Infinity Ward following the track of DICE’s Battlefield franchise are very high. By the time this comes out the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 should have a big enough userbase to get a version of the game outside of the PC release. — Via GameSpot

June 16th 2008 UPDATE: Call of Duty 5: World at War was confirmed as the official title of the next COD game in WWII. Hopefully Call of Duty 6 will be Future Warfare.

I think cod5 should be set in like 2020 or something close to that.make up like ww3 or something with semi-future and semi-present weapons.kinda like GRAW. no future warfare–thats what halo is for

also make the levels longer & give the enemy more of a variety of weapns. im tired of killin a guy walking over & always seeing an ak-47. add some more weapons

I really think it should be Call of Duty RANGERS. You could switch between WW2 missions and present warfare, our you could just keep it WW2, our go with the present step and kick some ass. Just dont distory the game by making some future crap.

i think that future would kill it cuz then u would fight aliens and bull like that modern war fare is the best shooting game ive played the perks are the best shit ever just make another modern warfare that would be great

The problem is we havent decided to join a decent war since WW2:
WW1:sit in a trench till some idiot tells you to charge a machine gun and then get the hell back as fast as you can;

Korea:Hold off thousands of chinese troops with no ammo.

Vietnam:Get lost in the jungle till you get anbushed by a bunch of Hippies. If mamaria doesnt kill you first!

Desert Storm 1:sit in the hot desert while the airforce beats the crap outta Saddam.

Cold War: Sit there bored as hell while praying that you dont get nuked.

Desert Storm:Sit their four 8 years getting nowhere against a barely functional army.
