Call of Duty 5 or 6: Future Warfare in development?

After Activision’s Call of Duty series will make the jump from WWII scenarios to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in late 2007, you have to wonder what lies ahead. Call of Duty 5: Future Warfare should be the next logical step in the FPS series!

From stopping the Nazis from taking over in World War II, to tackling terrorists around the globe in the 21st century, to fighting futuristic human factions on a barren planet Earth or alien interplanetary battles in the 22nd century?!

It’s only a rumor at this point, but chances of Infinity Ward following the track of DICE’s Battlefield franchise are very high. By the time this comes out the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 should have a big enough userbase to get a version of the game outside of the PC release. — Via GameSpot

June 16th 2008 UPDATE: Call of Duty 5: World at War was confirmed as the official title of the next COD game in WWII. Hopefully Call of Duty 6 will be Future Warfare.

for cod6 (probably by infinity ward) i want it to be a modern warfare game starting with the airplane mission on cod4. I also want to use the xm8 in all its variants (assault rifle,smg, lmg, and long barrel version)

call of duty 7 can be in korea.

wwi would be a bad game because it was set in the trenches and so would be mostly predictable and monotonus (did i spell that right) and the guns were all bolt action besides a bar (no tommy gun or m1 garand)

I think COD5 should have more stealth missions like all Ghillied Up in COD4. No future warfare it should stay modern. The game should also be longer.

I like that Call of duty was based on WWII, you get enough of modern/future warfare with games like battle field, ghost recon, halo, etc. COD 5 doesn’t have to be WWII based but maybe another historic war where you can choose which country you fight as but more importantly is if its a good FPS.

call of duty producers should stay making cod modern warfare, ww2 is getting old and there is no modern wartime games out, well not enough, but i wouldnt mind a vietnam game cod rocks!!!!!!!

they should not make a future warfare that just stupid and it jump in to aother era in to a future era i say they need to make one more modern warfare before thay get in to furture warfare

i don’t think there should be a future game cause all u need to play is halo 3. it should be ww2 but with every campaign from the real ww2 and make the levels pretty long and really good. or ww1 cause thats in treches and it would be pretty intense cause u would practilly only able to use rifles cause thats what they had or another modern warfare game cause cod4 was pretty good but the levels were way to short and some were not that good but i would have say that i loved the sniper level that was a piece of work.

well halo 3 is futuristic, but some people like the way you play COD more than halo. If this game really is real, I hope N-Space will show us another great FPS for the DS. I really enjoyed the modern warfare for DS, but it was too short. It really needed wifi to keep you going. I really hope this game is real. If it is, I’ll be there to buy it!
