Call of Duty 5 or 6: Future Warfare in development?

After Activision’s Call of Duty series will make the jump from WWII scenarios to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in late 2007, you have to wonder what lies ahead. Call of Duty 5: Future Warfare should be the next logical step in the FPS series!

From stopping the Nazis from taking over in World War II, to tackling terrorists around the globe in the 21st century, to fighting futuristic human factions on a barren planet Earth or alien interplanetary battles in the 22nd century?!

It’s only a rumor at this point, but chances of Infinity Ward following the track of DICE’s Battlefield franchise are very high. By the time this comes out the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 should have a big enough userbase to get a version of the game outside of the PC release. — Via GameSpot

June 16th 2008 UPDATE: Call of Duty 5: World at War was confirmed as the official title of the next COD game in WWII. Hopefully Call of Duty 6 will be Future Warfare.

I think there should be a call of duty fighting the war in the pacific. With the marines fighting the japs

Wow.. I’d be pissed if they made future warfare. I’d like the present much more and i hope if they have refined from cod4 with brand new fronts (like aka play as russians or chinese) that would bring a whole new experience and im very confused.. i heard that the next cod wud be Call of duty 5 Victory set in once again.. WW2 but that isnt really a bad thing… and its by treyarc.. da guys who made cod3

Yes, yojo. There has yet to be a good Vietnam FPS. Infinity Ward , hook it up. It may be a regression in the timeline, but i can just smell the napalm already.

I think that the next COD would be similar to COD4, but with a better storyline. Let’s face it, COD4 didn’t have what you’d call and enthrawling plot. Personally, I’d like to see something like COD: Desert Storm.

Let’s leave the future warfare to Tom Clancy’s End War.
