Lost Planet: Extreme Condition to jump out of Xbox 360 exclusivity to PC in June 2007
I hope you enjoyed my “Jump In” Xbox 360 slogun pun there. Because while third-person action shooter Lost Planet: Extreme Condition will remain a console exclusive on Xbox 360, it’s very much making the jump to PC. Even though the game has sold over one million since it’s release on Xbox 360 on January 12th 2007, with a production pricetag of $40 million for Lost Planet, a multiplatform release is no surprise.
Japanese game site Gamewatch got direct confirmation of the PC title from Capcom and NVIDIA. A translation by Eurogamer points to a American and European release date in June 2007, with other regions to follow. The PC version of Lost Planet will be for Windows Vista and requires the new DirectX 10 technology that boosts the resolution to as high as 2560×1600.
The game’s Producer, Jun Takeuchi, told Famitsu that effective use of NVIDIA GPU can produce an overwhelming game experience for the players. Due to the superb rendering power of Geforce graphics processors, he wants the players to look forward to the amazing details that the PC version of Lost Planet will offer.
