New Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier game coming to PSP or PS3?

Sony developer Naughty Dog has worked on a PSP title before and released two games of their Crash Bandicoot series on the portable in the past two years (Crash Tag Team Racing, Crash Bandicoot). As for the Jak and Daxter series, another Sony developer Ready at Dawn has of course released Daxter on PSP, but the resume of voice actor Robin Atkins Downes revealed (it’s since been removed) the unannounced title “Jak PSP“. He has apparently provided his voice for a new character named Captain Phoenix according to Wikipedia.

More interesting is a Sony patent for Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier that was filed on April 21, 2006. While it doesn’t mention if the platform is PSP or PS3, it does say patent #78867309 is for videogame software and an online-real-time game for others over global and local area computer networks. Which makes sense as Daxter also featured a 1-4 player multiplayer Bug Combat mode.

PSPfanboy concludes that with Ready at Dawn working on God of War, it could be possible that Naughty Dog is working on a PSP Jak game internally. However, with no concrete evidence available right now, this rumor remains exactly that.

i’ve beat jak1,2,3 and x and i loved all four. i am currently working on a new jak and daxter gameand it is extremely awesome!!. but i do hope that his new game will come out soon because im starting to get bored

i think that naughty dog..should at least think about making it for the ps2 just like all the rest of the jak and daxter games….Because some people already have the ps2 console and cant afford to buy the new ps3 …..All im just saying is that naughty dog should at least think about other consoles for the final frontier…..Dont get me wrong i love jak and daxter, but i dont want to go pay alot for the ps3 just to play the final frontier…..Maybe they should think a little better……Very upset

meg u are just to lazy to buy a PS3 everyone has a PS3 the whole school i go to has a PS3 and PS3 games are the best quality so i hope Jak and daxter lost frontier will be on PS3 not the shit PS2

oh and people dont be like that about ps3 everyone has a ps3 by now i got it the first day it came out and evryone shoul stop complaining about the prices of ps3 with the money i have i can open a ps3 internet club for 163 ps3’s and if jak 4 went on ps3 it would be a great plus for ps3 and its not sonys problem that ps3 is “expensive” its actualy cheap its just that u people are too cheap to buy a ps3

Nobody gives a crap that everyone in your school has a ps3 because I know for a fact that is not true. Its not laziness. Apparently you do not see that today’s economy is failing and not everyone out there can go and get a ps3. You are ignorant for even thinking that it was laziness.

Impersonation gets you nowhere.

To everyone else:
If Jak 4 really is going to come out, I sincerely hope it is released on the ps2. Hopefully the memory of the game won’t be too much so that it may not fit on the console.

2 add on 2 wat the producer said, i think all Jak series should be for all 3 sony systems cuz if u look at, Jak 1 to Jak X was for ps2 and DAXTER was for psp so y not let the ps3 have one. If i sound confusin then i shoud say all JAK GAMES SHOUD BE FOR ALL 3 SONY SYSTEMS (even if ps3 is harder than all game systems). so blazer i agree with wat u were sayin but ps2 was and still is the shit. Jak and all sony systems are all family. BIG UPS 2 THE PRODUCERS.

Ok guys i totally agree with ps2.Plus theres a economic crisis or whatever crap there is there but look at ratchet and clank and spyro their final games (for now) are for ps3.My thoughts are that jak 4 should be on ps3 common ps2 is old it was like 2004.New times have come technology expanded its time for HD for more interest and play time look and you will see that im right.and im not rich nor do i live in a palace my mum and dad bought it to me for my birthday for 500£ from Paris trust me.

Alright, I had a ps2 when they came out but when ps3 came out i got one. However, it got stolen… IM NOT KIDDING!!!!!! So, I think that if u dont want a ps3, please naughtydogs put it on ps2.
