Star Wars Battlefront III coming as an Xbox 360 exclusive from the creators of GoldenEye

The March issue of UK magazine PlayStation World (PSW) made a surprising announcement in the middle of their Star Wars retrospective feature. On page 65, PSW states that Free Radical Design (the creators GoldenEye and TimeSplitters) is developing the next/third iteration of Star Wars Battlefront.

To quote the magazine: “Star Wars Battlefront III is also currently in development, with LucasArts having switched coders from Pandemic Studios – who made Battlefront I and Battlefront II – to Free Radical… Star Wars Battlefront III is listed as an Xbox 360 exclusive, but expect a full PSW review to before the end of the year.”

The magazine doesn’t think it will stay Xbox 360 exclusive and will come to PS3 later in 2007, which makes sense since Star Wars Battlefront II appeared on PC, Xbox, PS2 & PSP back in 2005. While LucasArts hasn’t made an official announcement yet, we thought this was too good to pass up on. Let’s hope we’ll hear/see more about the online multiplayer shooter soon.

i beg everyone check out mass effect wi owners ps3 owners dont ignore it coz its a xbox 360 game its brill its truely realistic and feels like a living breathing game truely its the next star wars and thats coming from a star wars fan

one thing else that should be added is when your in a space battle and u enter a ship u should be able to walk through the whole ship to the engine ports….torpedeo ports and even the bridge…not just all the things cramped in a few rooms!!! and also u should be able to fly from the ground into space with a fighter e.g. (x-wing)…please make the game abit better when you acctually make it

and put all the good battles in….like the arena fight in clone wars movie… and that you should be able to interacte with tanks and ships with a jedi and cut through the armour with your lightsaber or force push tanks and large pillars and obstacles in your way! …. and you should be able to spawn as a commander or jedi leader and fly a large capital ship like a star destroyer or something…and also rockets and large laser fire should destroy tanks and ships in 1 hit….1 last thing should be that everything should be interactive…like u miss with blaster fire or a rocket it should blow chunks out of buildings and walls…ground aswell…and buildings should collpase and fall apart..THAT WOULD BE SWEET

I think and I know it’s only October, that the X-BOX 360 would be a better bet for you this year. The PS3 has only just come out. The X-BOX, by the time the holidays role around X-BOX will probably lower thier price. I have been a Playstation fan for many years and incase BF3 comes out on X-BOX you will already have the (if you buy it.) 360. Whether your a kid whose parents could get you an X-BOX or if you’re an adult who just likes gaming I think the X-BOX would be a better bet for you this year. By next year the PS3 will have said to lower thier price by $150. I think the X-BOX has won this year but maybe by the time PS3 has their first anniversary BF3 will be on PS3.

seriously, in what way is the ps3 better than the 360. i mean 360 has a faster processor and a superior graphics card and its cheaper than a ps3 therefore (ps3=dead). and to those how still play ps2 … DIE NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOU CHEAP SKATES WHO ARE STILL ON THERE PARENTS POCKETMONEY!!!!!!!!

Are we now getting into Xbox vs PS3? I thought that we were talking about which system gets BF3. Not Xbox vs PS3.
