New Pokemon (Mysterious Dungeon Gold and Silver?) dual-game announced for DS

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl have only been released in Japan so far (coming to U.S. on April 22, the rest of the world later) yet they’ve together already sold over 5 million copies in one country! So what do you do when you’ve got a hot series? Make more spinoff games of it of course!

The latest issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu has revealed a new Pokemon game is coming that is different from the latest dual-game Pokemon Diamond & Pearl, because it isn’t one of the main Pokemon RPG games. Instead, developer Chunsoft (who made the dual-game Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red for GBA & Blue for DS that together sold 5.5 million copies worldwide!) is once again taking on the license for an as-yet unnamed dual-game release set for release in Japan sometime in 2007. No word on releases elsewhere. Our guess is these are new Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon games!

Both new Pokemon (Mysterious Dungeon Gold and Silver?) games will be for Nintendo DS only and will feature WiFi online support!

The game’s designers are hoping WiFi gaming will give players the feeling of playing with others. And the games could also take advantage of DS features like the touch screen and microphone. Hopefully we’ll hear more about these games and their official names soon.

J Dog, considering Mysterious Dungeon Red and Blue had over 380 Pokemon, I think if these games do get the sequels that are hinted at, that all Pokemon will be in the games again.

I heard that a new pokemon called Hejiru will be making a cameo in this game… Not sure if its real or not.

I think it could be good. The other mystery dungeon was cool but maybe this one will be better

5 of the 16 starters are Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Munchlax, and Pikachu. Another is likely Meowth.
They are called Time Expedition and Darkness Expedition.

Here is some infomation about the game:

1) Your partner is a fan of legends had always holds a ‘ruins shard’ with it
2) All 493 Pokemon will be featured in the game
3) Instead of training at the Makuhita Dojo, you will train at the guild.
4) Wigglytuff is the leader of the guild.
5) Loudred, Chatot, Croagunk, Bidoof, Chimecho, Diglett, Dugtrio, Sunflora and Corphish are all members of the guild.
6) Instead of rescuing Pokemon in dungeons you will be exploring them or hunting down crimanals
7) There are four other teams in the game that have been confirmed, they are: Team Razorwind, Team Pidgeydot, Team Happeads and Team Poison Rose

There will be a Kecleon Shop, a Kangaskhan Storage, a Bank run by Duskull and an Electivire Link Shop. Also Marrowak runs a shop but i don’t know the purpose of it yet
