Dragon Ball manga/anime series creator Akira Toriyama is personally supervising the development of Dragon Ball Online with Bandai and Bandai Korea. An open beta test is promised for this PC game in the first half of this year. So get ready for many clone SuperSaiyanGoku9000 usernames.

The player becomes the hero of the Dragon Ball world and will be able to enjoy this Dragon Ball game to resemble the original work closely. The game graphics will look like the original cartoon thanks to 3D cel-shading. To play the game smoothly, the minimum system requirements are set at a Pentium 4 2GHz with 512MB RAM.

The following may be a rusty translation, but there’s also mention of it being “the first game that mixes martial arts and raw fish together” and “in PVP battles a weaker player can hide from the character with the strongest power level.” I guess that’s a handy DBZ move “the coward runs away!” :D

Other upcoming games with Akira’s involvement, as a character designer, are Dragon Quest Swords for the Wii and Dragon Quest IX for the Nintendo DS. Via Thisisgame

LOL I’m Korean, but can’t play, since I live in US, but planning to have my relatives down there send me the game. Gonna use their address and phone number and also have them pay for the monthly fee and etc. Only thing is I have to send them money to payback. Not a bad deal… hell, it’s a damn good deal from US anyways. Btw to those who hated GT, if you watched the US version, yes it is total shyt… b/c they cut out so many episodes and scenes and such. Saw the JP version and it was whole lot better. Also there is suppose to be another series after GT.. but forgot the title. It could be out in Japan, but not sure. Anyways looking forward to 2008! q/>_0\p

Okay to answer Degalons statement. With all MMORPGs they make it to where you can not have any main characters names as your own do to it’s a copyright and destroys the game paly for other plays. As a huge fane of DBZ for the past 10 years this game is already on my wish list for the japanese version when it comes out and the beta tester. Though the game may never reach american shores I’m more then positive it will do to the Bandais in American will have it. So keep an eye out last I heard 2008 it will hit japan then from 2008-2010 it will hit American hit me up on samuraideeperkyo88@yahoo.com for more info. Peace out and keep it posted.
