Dragon Ball Online game coming as Korean PC MMORPG

Dragon Ball manga/anime series creator Akira Toriyama is personally supervising the development of Dragon Ball Online with Bandai and Bandai Korea. An open beta test is promised for this PC game in the first half of this year. So get ready for many clone SuperSaiyanGoku9000 usernames.

The player becomes the hero of the Dragon Ball world and will be able to enjoy this Dragon Ball game to resemble the original work closely. The game graphics will look like the original cartoon thanks to 3D cel-shading. To play the game smoothly, the minimum system requirements are set at a Pentium 4 2GHz with 512MB RAM.

The following may be a rusty translation, but there’s also mention of it being “the first game that mixes martial arts and raw fish together” and “in PVP battles a weaker player can hide from the character with the strongest power level.” I guess that’s a handy DBZ move “the coward runs away!”

Other upcoming games with Akira’s involvement, as a character designer, are Dragon Quest Swords for the Wii and Dragon Quest IX for the Nintendo DS. Via Thisisgame

YEEEEEEES!!!! i dunno what to say, ive been waiting for this game so long it’s like shen long has granted my biggest desire! the dragonball trilogy is the best anime/manga ever to be released nothing can top it,this is “THE” mmorpg 2 concer them all!well ofcourse im gonna be a saiyan but im not quite sure if the over races like humans and namekians can keep up with them once they’ve become super saiyans so i think they should make a new race just for the game,well thats my opinion anyway. 1 more thing this is a dream come true for every DB fan so thank you very very much akira toriyama! keep it up

Wow, some people don’t even bother reading. This is still a working title, the Alpha is currently being tested, beta isn’t even out yet, so to answer your question: You can NOT download this game at this time. Also, gg on DBO. However reading the above post about the intent on Goku dying on Namek makes me ponder as to if they’ll include, Super Saiyan 2,3 and 4. Oh and I’m also sure that they’ll make the game balanced, cause if they made Saiyans the strongest everyone would just go one. They’ll probably make there powers scale, for example; Super Namek is equal to a Super Saiyan.. etc. Oh.. and I hope he includes Androids! =P
