Steven SpielbergIn 2005 a collaboration between EA and Steven Spielberg (E.T., War of the Worlds) was announced, where it was revealed that he would be creating three separate, but original, titles. Games that were not based off of his movies but entirely built for gaming from the ground up. However no specific systems were announced.

Today we have learned that one of the three Steven Spielberg titles is headed for the Nintendo Wii. Which was revealed in an interview by GameDaily.Biz with EA Los Angeles VP and GM Neil Young.

To quote from the interview:

“The first one, what I can tell you is what you’d expect, sort of, from a Steven Spielberg production. Steven’s stories are intimate stories that take place around huge, world-changing events… sort of, big stories shown through the eyes of a small group. Doug Church is producing it . . .The second project is something Lou Castle is producing, one of the great producers in this industry, and that’s one of the products we’re building for the Wii. Very exciting and interesting…”

Neil also mentioned that Steven is at the offices each week to discuss the games. Which we can entail to mean the collaboration is a close relationship between the game’s developers and Spielberg, and that he is highly involved in the creation process, the game won’t just have his name slapped on the cover. Which is always a good thing. No details for the new title have been announced at this point. We’ll keep you posted as soon as they are announced.
