Tekken VS. Virtua Fighter possible if fans want it!

Tekken Versus Virtua Fighter
Namco Bandai’s Tekken project director Haruki Suzaki recently planned the PSP Dark Resurrection version of the popular Tekken 5 arcade port and is the lead for the upcoming downloadable PS3 edition as well.

He and Tekken 5 Game Director Katsuhiro Harada acknowledged several years ago that a “Tekken VS. Virtua Fighter” game was something they’d like to do one day. Something not that out there with Sega doing a game in the same vein called Fighters Megamix ten years ago. When Suzaki-san was asked in an interview with IGN what the chances of us ever seeing that Versus game were, he said:

“I had the opportunity to speak with the director of Virtual Fighter [Yu Suzuki] on many occasions in the past and actually talk of collaboration came up again recently. Being from the same industry, this is something we definitely would like to try at least once. Looking at it from another perspective, we began to realize that it would actually be more difficult to make this happen than we first thought. More than anything, we believe this decision greatly lies in our fans. So, we would actually like to ask for our fans’ opinion on this.”

Send your requests for a Tekken VS. Virtua Fighter game to IGN’s email. They’ll pass them to on to Namco and SEGA!

It would be awesome but I dont think the two combat systems would be user friendly but I still would like to see it, and bring Tecmo on board as well.

it’d be nice, but considering the characters from tekken have “powers”, it really would be challenging! i’d personally love to see it. they get my vote for it!

It would be kinda cool, but they are so different in style… It would be interesting to see what they’d build up.

That would be so class!! I remember reading an issue of CVG years ago for their April issue of the mag and inside there was news and pictures of FIGHTERS UNIVERSE!! well I nearly filled me pants with excitement….. It ended up in the following months issue that the WHOLE thing was an April fool!!! shower of shites, god I was sooo excited.

i am a big fan of tekken and my best fighter is jin.i am also a fan of virtua fighter.i hope there will be a game called ‘virtua fighter v tekken’2008. it will be soooooooo cool to see what happened
