The Elder Scrolls V possibly a Massively Multiplayer Online Game

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (DVD-ROM)The creators of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Bethesda Softworks, only focus their studio on one game at a time. Next up for them is Fallout 3. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t talking about a sequel to Oblivion. Bethesda Softworks’ VP of PR and marketing Pete Hines told 1up the following about the years-away Elder Scrolls V:

“Well, I can tell you that since Oblivion has been such a smashing success that I’m sure we will do [Elder Scrolls V], but there are no immediate plans right now,” said Hines. As for what form Elder Scrolls V would take, that’s still up in the air. A Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) seems a natural, evolutionary step for the series, but while Hines doesn’t suggest that’s a direction for Elder Scrolls V, the possibility of a new game has been bounced around. He doubts, however, they would go forward unless they had a “fresh idea” for the genre.

  Well…if it was a MMO i think it would ruin the series.Elder Scrolls Has always been the game to me like i wanted a person beside as in CO-OP and it seems that it would be good with all the customizations armor etc… They might even be more popular then Blizzard…if they just made CO-OP and a online arena (that would cause some blogs eh)..That enough ideas for you?

Ok..let me explain more on Arena’s.Online Arena like ??? VS ??? it would some blogs because who won the match, was it a good match. And CO-OP could still have a good story.Like Brothers Save the city from a Demon From a hellish gate.it wouldnt effect gameplay, in my opinion i think it would be fun.But its up to us, Lets Make it Good. Not Bad.

um… no… that’s not what Hines said. You guys added the MMO part. He said everything BUT that… and even if a MMO was being made it wouldn’t be called TES V. They wuold make a game for an upcoming console and would make a MMO as just a MMO not another installment in the seris.

I have three words for ES: V necromancy,Necromancy,NECROMANCY
i realy wanted to use it in oblivion aside from the staff of worms. Co-op is a good idea also i wish they’d bring back some spells from Morrowind like mark, recall(those are teleport for the unaqainted) and levitation. the return of joinable ruling factions (not in cydrodil obviously) and player lycanthropy (werewolves) and finally some puests fom gods ie: the nine (not just the tribunal as in morrowind)

I think the TES-games should continiue being single-player games. I am a big TES fan but have not time for any MMORPG game where I would be obliged to play 5 hours a day. TES V should be single-player. For those who are looking for a big fantasy MMORPG game, we already have World of Warcraft.

Well, dont knock a elder scrolls MMO till you’ve thought about it. If it was designed not to seem like the next installment of the ES universe, and just another story, it would be pretty good. Give it a thought, imagine what MMO’s are like now, and think what the elder scrolls online would be like? It would totally change the face of MMO gameplay.

Alternatly i totally agree with the co-op, that would be fun.

how about if they make two TES5 games, like the same game, but one is a single player edition but u can still invite freinds and one is an MMO edition.

and with the storyline they should make it longer but they should make several paths in the main quest like becoming evil and when u speak to someone in the main quest watever u say effects the path u are going in.

(i would still prefer if TES stayed as a single player game)

    CO-OP!

I absolutely hate MMORPG’s, with their monthly fees and 10-year-olds.

You people are retarded. It’s not going to be a MMORPG. And, for all you people who are saying “I play WOW and I totally think they should make this a MMO!” Well, of course you think that, cause you play WOW.

MMO games are just shiny chat rooms. Get a real life and keep it separate from your video game habits.

Oblivion is one of the greatest games i have ever played. But, aside from a few combat flaws it is missing one vital thing that they should put into a sequel. That thing is online gaming. Imagine playing TES with your buddies  . If they were to put in the same graphics and make it online it would undoubtedly make game of the year.
