The Crossing coming to both PC and Xbox 360 in 2008
Arkane Studios is the French developer behind the popular action title Dark Messiah of Might & Magic. Late last year they revealed The Crossing for PC, which is the first FPS to feature online crossplayer aka counter-op. The game won’t be released until 2008.
Arkane Studios’ official website points at the development of an Xbox 360 version, with the company seeking new members with expertise in Xbox 360 Programming & other positions.
Palgn discovered the position mentions that Arkane Studios are currently seeking a Xbox 360 programmer who “will handle porting, maintaining, and optimizing the codebase for the Xbox 360 version of the game, developed on the Valve’s Source Engine.”
The Crossing is a first-person shooter that will fuse single and multi-player gameplay together, allowing players to take the place of enemies in the single player campaign and cause more problems than your typical AI opponent. It is unknown whether the game will utilise Microsoft’s ‘Live Anywhere’ service that allows PC users to play against Xbox 360 users seamlessly, much like Shadowrun. Take a peek:
