The game’s title is Star Wars: Force Unleashed. And PS2, PSP and DS versions are also underway from a different unknown developer. No word on a Wii version, but the Wii Remote controller would be perfect as a Lightsaber.

Star Wars: Force Unleashed and takes place between Episode III and Episode IV, when the new Sith Lord Darth Vader is out to wipe the galaxy clean of runaway Jedi. As Vader’s apprentice, you’re on a secret mission to dive head-first into the forbidden Dark Side of the force, take out the emperor and rule the galaxy as master and apprentice.

George Lucas is reported by C&VG as having a lot of input into the project, and has even helped design some of the characters. LucasArts promises to shake up the Star Wars lore with alternate endings in Unleashed, so the bad guys really can win!

Casino Royale Blu-ray movie for the first 500,000 PS3 systems registered online in Europe

British version of Casino Royale on Blu-raySony has announced that the first 500,000 people to register their PS3 on the PlayStation Network, after the console’s European launch on March 23rd, will receive a free copy of the newest James Bond film Casino Royale on Blu-ray.

That’s a good £25 or €33 saving if you were planning to get the movie to watch on the PS3’s Blu-ray player anyway. The film will play back in 1080p resolution, having been encoded with the MPEG-4 AVC codec and stored on a 50GB, dual-layer Blu-ray disc.

It’s a much better deal than the American PS3 launch that offered the weak comedy film Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby on Blu-ray with the first 400,000 units sold. — Stay away from this 007 trailer if you want to watch the full movie without getting some of the best surprises spoiled:

AIAS Awards winners show Gears of War as the biggest game of 2006

Gears Of War for Xbox 360The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences announced the winners of the 10th Annual AIAS’ last Friday. The big winner this year was Gears of War from Epic Games, who swept the AIAS Awards with eight awards. They boasted beating the Nintendo Wii for recognition by games industry peers: “Getting sales is great, making the game we wanted and having people buy it and enjoy it is fantastic. But having our peers say it’s the best game of the year? That’s insane. We beat the Wii.”

Nintendo Wii includes Wii SportsThis year’s awards were not without controversy, as Capcom recently made headlines over the AIAS’ exclusion of their prized games, Okami and Dead Rising. The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (sponsors of the AIAS Awards), however, maintains their position that a publisher must be a paid member of the AIAS in order for their games to be considered for nomination. Okami and Oblivion are set to go head-to-head for honors at the all-inclusive GDC Awards this March.

Below is a full list of the nominees, with the winners bolded:

Overall Game of the Year:
Gears of War (Epic Games/Microsoft Game Studios)
Wii Sports (Nintendo/Nintendo)
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Nintendo/Nintendo)
Guitar Hero 2 (Harmonix/Activision/Red Octane)
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Bethesda Softworks/2K Games)

E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial throws away his own Atari 2600 game

Here’s another “Worst Games on the Face of the Earth” video. E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial game from 1982 has to be one of the worst, if not THE worst, game ever made.

It’s so awful in fact, that in the commercial E.T. even throws away his own game! Poor kid thought he got a gift…
