The Disney Corporation today announced a name change for Buena Vista Games (previously known as Disney Interactive), the company’s videogames division, is renamed again as Disney Interactive Studios. This makes sense as we were calling them Disney anyway. The publisher will continue to release both Disney and non-Disney games, the latter of which include Turok, Spectrobes, and most recently Every Extend Extra.
Talking about games, via email they pointed out that on the Every Extend Extra site, a new element called Extend will make the site reliant on audience interaction. Visitors will be able to Extend the site’s lifespan by voting on one of the nine levels. If Extend does not receive enough votes the website has been programmed to self-destruct!
In the same press release The Walt Disney Company announced profits of $1.7 billion in 2006, mainly thanks to the smooth sailings of their Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
